Just the beginning

Hmmm......so I decided to start a blog. There are some great blogs out there, they are funny, witty and real. My friend started one when her baby was born. Hers is beautiful, gorgeous pictures with updates on the baby and an insight to her life as a new mommy. All I hope for mine to be is read, by a handful of people. If I can make mine that interesting, I will be satisfied.
Speaking of satisfied, can 5 more minutes of something bring you satisfaction? The name of my blog, "Just 5 more minutes" is just what I hear everyday from my boys. "Just 5 more minutes" of their favorite cartoon, 5 more minutes of computer time, 5 more minutes of sleep. I got to thinking that I am going to start saying that to them.
How about...........................5 more minutes for me to soak in a hot bubbly bath? How about 5 more minutes of sleep? The kind of sleep where the bed is warm and you are more comfortable then you have ever been. 5 more minutes of simply doing nothing productive on the computer, like being nosy; or curious rather, and looking at myspace profiles of people you do not even know. How about 5 minutes of chatting on the phone without a child needing something or bickering with their brother? How about 5 extra minutes of cleaning? Not me, the kids. Instead of cleaning each room for 3 minutes (which I have my kids do), how about I add an extra 5? I will try it and see how it goes, I'm not expecting rave reviews. But, 5 extra minutes usually is never enough for enjoying whatever it is you are doing. The snooze button on an alarm clock is even set for more than 5 minutes. To a child, 5 minutes is either way too short (for computer time) or 5 minutes lasts forever, if they are cleaning.
The other day I mentioned to my dear friend that I'm having gray hair come in right above my ears and she simply said, "those are angel wings". My husband tries to tell me it is blonde and my son, he says, yep, those are very gray. So, I decided to dye my hair, even though last week I decided to just let it be its natural color (whatever that is, its been awhile).
So, yesterday as I was dying my hair medium auburn (hubby chose the color), the directions said to leave dye on for 20 minutes, but if you have stubborn grays, leave in for an EXTRA 5 MINUTES. Ha! Sometimes those 5 little minutes may mean all the difference between being satisfied with your new color or still having those pesky grays, or angel wings.
